Do You Need A Workplace Upgrade?

Have you considered an upgrade to your conference room? With all of the new modern workplace technologies available on the market right now, it might be time to take stock of your conference rooms and see if they are ready to meet the needs of today. With the addition of work from home opportunities in so many jobs, virtual collaboration is becoming the new normal in business – is your business ready to support this? Read on to learn about the conference room updates we can provide to your business.

IN PERSON AND AT HOME

We all remember being introduced to the Google Meet or the Zoom Call for the first time. There was likely poor lighting, some network hiccups, and maybe even some anxiety from watching yourself on the screen. But today, many of us have adopted video conferencing as a standard. The technology and resources have improved; hopefully, and we are so used to it that any anxiety should be gone. We have learned, though, that the proper conference room design is very helpful in making your meetings successful for those joining your both virtually and in person.

Here are a few ways to adjust for quality video conference calls:

  • Place cameras near the conference room TV. This placement will feel the most natural and allow those attending the best opportunity to simulate face-to-face conversation.

  • Incorporate more than one microphone when possible, ideally placed on the table or suspended from the ceiling.

  • Test audio systems and room acoustics to make sure that the sound is coming through clear.

  • Ensure your network can support video conferencing. Nothing is worse than the BUFFERING frozen screen while trying to communicate.

  • Add lighting when necessary to make sure you do not have a dimly lit room.

  • Install shading to block out the sunlight during calls. Harsh sun at differing times of the day can impact the video quality.

COLLABORATIVE TOOLS

What type of collaborative tools are available in your conference rooms today? If you typically use whiteboards, consider upgrading to digital whiteboard technology so virtual meeting attendees can easily collaborate. Intelligent web cameras that focus on the speaker are also helpful for improving communication during a virtual meeting. Screen sharing tools in your conferencing applications are also helpful.
